Lake Tahoe’s North Shore is a favorite among visitors and locals. The proximity to the lake provides fun activities in the summer and gorgeous lake views year round. There are a number of ski resorts going in just about every direction from the North Shore. Another bonus to properties on the North Shore is their great southern exposure and beautiful lake and mountain views.
Tahoe City is one of the largest communities on the North Shore and is located at the end of Highway 89S. There are many shops and restaurants that make up this cute, quaint town. Another perk for Tahoe City is the boat marina. Many locals prefer this area because of the close proximity to the elementary, junior high, and high schools. The Nordic Center is also located in Tahoe City for the cross country skiers in the area. Commons Beach is a fun place to be in the summer with the visiting local bands and weekly farmers market.
Kings Beach is another of the larger communities on the North Shore and is located at the end of Highway 267. Kings Beach also has some shops and restaurants and has future plans to have much more! This is a popular place because of the close proximity to the lake and the more affordable housing.
Some of the smaller communities along the North Shore in between Tahoe City and Kings Beach include Lake Forest, Dollar Point, Cedar Flat, Carnelian Bay, and Tahoe Vista.
