The many great ski resorts in the Sierra Nevadas is one the biggest draws for vacationers and homeowners in the area. With over 10 major downhill ski resorts and 4 cross country ski resorts skiers and snow boarders have endless possibilities. Truckee gets an average of nearly 200 inches of snow each year. The Truckee ski season typically lasts from December to end of April or early May, but some years it starts much earlier and can go later than that.
